27MADISONVILLE 0608 The parents of the 8-year-old Madisonville boy  who died from exposure to fentanyl will be back in court next month.  Antonio and Whitney Person pleaded not guilty to Trey Harris’ death on Friday.  Antonio Person faces 10 counts.  Whitney Person faces three counts. In the Person’s residence, the police found fentanyl pills, additional drugs, and drug paraphernalia.  The boy passed away in March.  

26HOPKINS COUNTY 0607 In Hopkins County, the expansion of a farming technology business will create 30 job opportunities. The Madisonville-Hopkins County Economic Development Corporation says
construction continues on CLAAS FARMPOINT in Hanson at the Industry & Technology Park.  Claas’s location will provide convenience and speed of service for their customers.  It’s less than a mile off I-69.

24HOPKINS COUNTY 0605 Many of the high schools are adding a new administrative position.  In Hopkins County,  the director of athletics and special programs is Matt Bell.

19WEBSTER COUNTY 0609 The driver in a U-T-V crash on Saturday night near Sebree is facing two charges.  Joseph Goodwin was treated at the Deaconess E-R for the incident thatoccurred off Watkins Road.    Channel 14 is reporting that deputies determined that Goodwin exhibited several signs of impairment.  A passenger also received treatment.

17WEBSTER COUNTY 0609 In Webster County, two firefighters are recovering from an traffic accident on Saturday morning. It’s reported their Sebree Fire Department Rescue truck was involved in a rollover crash  on Highway 56.  Officials say they were released after suffering non-life threatening injuries.

26MADISONVILLE 0608 Two Madisonville schools will be involved with the Kentucky Community Schools Initiative.  Madisonville-North High School and Browning Springs Middle School say the Prichard Committee is funding the project that took months to plan.  The goal of the initiative is to convert public schools into community schools, or schools that ensure students receive health, social service, and learning opportunities to support student and family well-being.

13HOPKINS COUNTY 0607 The Hopkins County Fiscal Court will have a special meeting this (Monday) afternoon.  The meeting will include consideration for the bids to construct the new sheriff’s office. The meeting will begin at 2:30 at the Government Center.

32KENTUCKY 0607 It looks like 20-25 will be the year of the real I-D in the Bluegrass State.  Starting May 7th of 2025, all standard driver’s licenses and I-Ds that do not display a star icon, will no longer be accepted to board commercial flights, or allow entrance into military bases, nuclear power plants or any federal building that requires identification.  Webster County has a popup event on Tuesday, the 11th at the Extension Office in Dixon.
Appointments are needed.

16PROVIDENCE 0609 In Webster County, the sheriff’s office says a Providence man is charged with three crimes involving drug trafficking.  The sheriff’s office received a tip that 32-year-old Jordan Wright was trafficking L-S-D.  Wright is now at the detention center.  

24FRANKFORT 0606 In Frankfort, a piece of legislation that didn’t make it this year, is expected to get major attention next year.  Keith West reports.
