Hopkins County Humane Society’s Pet of the Week Monday, November 27
Meet Dane, a charming 1-year-old domestic short-haired cat with a mysterious past as he arrived as a stray. Despite his unknown background, Dane has proven to be a social feline, getting along well with other cats. While he may be a bit timid around dogs, his sweet and gentle nature shines through in the company of people, making him an ideal companion for families. Dane is on the lookout for his forever home, where he can bring joy and warmth to a loving family, especially one with kids who will surely appreciate his affectionate demeanor.

Hopkins County Humane Society’s Pet of the Week Monday, November 20
Meet Bonnie 1 in a half year-old Pitbull Terrier mix, a sweetheart who found herself in our care through no fault of her own. This angelic pup came in as an owner surrendered but holds no grudges, as she is good-natured and friendly. With a warm and gentle demeanor, she gets along well with both other dogs and children, showcasing her adaptable and amiable personality. Although we haven’t tested her with cats yet, we are open to doing so. This affectionate canine companion is now on the lookout for her forever home, where her sweet nature and loving spirit can brighten the lives of those lucky enough to adopt her.

The Women of Hanson United Methodist would like to invite you to their Holiday Rummage and Bake Sale where they’ll also have cookies by the pound! The event is Saturday, November 18th, 2023 from 8:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. Located on the corner of Highway 41 and Brown Badgett Loop.

Yodi came into our care as a stray with a broken back leg, but thanks to prompt veterinary attention and a dedicated team, her leg has fully healed after weeks of wearing a splint. Now, Yodi is ready to embark on a new chapter in her life and is eagerly searching for a forever home. Yodi is a sweet and affectionate pup who thrives in an environment without other dogs or cats. She has a gentle demeanor and is well-suited for a home with children. Despite her early challenges, Yodi has bounced back with a wagging tail and is eager to bring joy and companionship to a loving family. If you’re looking for a loyal and resilient canine companion, Yodi might be the perfect addition to your home.

Have a Hallmark Holiday in Madisonville! Shop the Mistletoe Stroll and experience shopping in downtown Madisonville like never before! The third annual Mistletoe Art Stroll will be held in downtown Madisonville on Friday, December 1st from 5-8 PM.
Art, shopping, food, and fun! The Mistletoe Art Stroll is guaranteed to be a shopping experience with style! Support small businesses and creative artisans, all while checking off your holiday shopping list! Downtown businesses will open their doors and host artisans in their stores! Designated “stroll stops” will feature the local businesses you know and love and a guest artisan in their space! You can expect to find over 30 artisans featuring one-of-a-kind art, including locally poured candles, handcrafted jewelry, pottery, leather items, paintings, custom home décor, and so much more! Many local stores and restaurants will also have event specials and sales!
“We are excited to usher in the holiday season with a weekend of holiday magic in Madisonville,” said Colbi Ferguson, Director of Communications at Hopkins County Tourist and Convention Commission. “The Mistletoe Art Stroll will be a great event to bring visitors and locals into our community to support small businesses and artisans!”
This family-friendly event will feature the Christmas Tree Lighting at 5:30 PM in front of the Historic Courthouse. Join community leaders as they light the tree and kick off the holiday season! Enjoy the classical sound of a local brass ensemble or sing along to your favorite Christmas carol on a free horse-drawn carriage ride downtown! Other activities scheduled for that evening include free balloon twisting, a stilt walker, free popcorn, ornament decorating, and more!

Deck the Park

The City of Madisonville, Kentucky, and The Hopkins County Tourist & Convention Commission are thrilled to announce the return of Deck The Park for its fourth consecutive season. This awe-inspiring Christmas light drive-thru is entirely free and packed with endless festive fun!
Deck The Park runs from November 23 until January 1, 2024, every evening from 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM. You’ll find an array of attractions, including not one, but two magnificent Gondola Ferris wheels, a merry-go-round, a Reindeer Ride, and an Inflatable Snowman Bounce House. Plus, a Funnel Cake and hot chocolate booth is situated near all of the rides and action! Throughout the park, you’ll discover beautiful displays and a walk-through LED Ornament and Gingerbread Man Photo Op.
This year, there’s also the new Serenity Path near the water, and every weekend in December, Santa and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance, along with various food trucks and carolers. Don’t miss out on the festive fun!Add to calendar
