Black History Spectacular
BLACK HISTORY SPECTACULAR 2023
The community is invited to our BLACK HISTORY SPECTACULAR 2023 entitled “History Will Erase The Mystery.” Special guest speaker will be Ms. Tonja Simms who will be bringing the afternoon message. We will also celebrate “Rosa Parks Day” which falls on February 4th, the day of our program. During the program we will pay a special tribute to the United States Colored Troops (USCT) from Hopkins County who served during the American Civil War. There will be a “Did You Know?”segment and more! Special music from Ms. Marshae Hopson. Youth participation with Ms. Starr Springfield from MNHHS. We will take up a love offering during the program. Following the program, everyone is welcome to join us in the church fellowship hall for some treats and eats! This is anticipated to be an awesome event!

The Last Five Years Musical
This modern musical ingeniously chronicles the five-year life of a marriage, from meeting to break-up and from break-up to meeting. Produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Dinner will be served in the Anne P. Baker Gallery. Play seating will be in the auditorium.

Wood Working Class

Build a Charcuterie Board (3 part class)
Make & Take your charcuterie board for your house, all while learning to use various pieces of woodworking equipment. Improve your woodworking knowledge with this woodworking small group series.
Classes will be held for 3 weeks
January 10, 17, 24th from 5-8 PM
We will be making a dual-species end grain cutting board. The class will be three individual classes. Dimensions are approximately 7.5″x12″x1 1/4″ and you will keep the cutting board you make at the completion of the classes.
Woodworking equipment used: Thickness Planer, Jointer, Drum Sander, Table Saw, Router & Orbital Sander
Plus, at the end of three sessions, you get to take home your own hand-made end grain-cutting board!
Please note in the order if you have experience with woodworking equipment, or if you are a beginner. We will be using power equipment, so safety is required.

Return to Bethlehem
Remember the reason for the season as you step back in time to Bethlehem on the evening of Christ’s birth during this walk through drama. Reenactors portray shopkeepers, families, soldiers, prisoners, and others involved in the daily activities of life in ancient Israel. Experience the place, the sounds, the smells and the anticipation of the town’s people as they go about the city selling their wares, tending their animals, and rearing their families. Admission is free; offerings are accepted. Large groups are welcome and encouraged to call ahead. Enjoy live music in the Sanctuary as you wait your turn to make the journey.
