Janet Sue McKnight Baggett, 79, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at her home.
She was born on October 13, 1947, in Kanawha, WV, to the late Martha Elizabeth Creel McKnight and James Edgar McKnight. She enjoyed sewing and crafting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren. Janet was a member of Nebo Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Bob” Baggett; and her siblings, Dean McKnight, Gene McKnight, Betty Lloyd, Lou Puryear, Jimmy McKnight, Tommy McKnight, and Gerald McKnight.
Her survivors include daugters, Toni (Marty) Lantrip of Nebo, KY, Tammie (Damond) Houston and Tina Beckner, both of Dawson Springs; son, Jim Baggett of Dawson Springs; brother, Albert McKnight of Greeneville, TN; six grandchildren, Stephanie Clayton, Clarissa Rust, Wilson Conrad, Summer Vidro, Hunter Lantrip, and Nathan Houston; two great-grandchildren, Katie Blanchard and Luke Blanchard; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Rhye officiating. Burial to follow at Beulah Cemetery in Beulah, KY.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Wilson Conrad, Hunter Lantrip, Brian McKnight, Joe Martinez, Austin Schultz, and Moise Vidro.
