Leah Ann Cotton, 45, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Monday, October 19, 2026, at University of Louisville Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.
She was born on September 3, 1981, in Madisonville, KY to Darris “Pevie” and Patricia “Patty” Cotton.
Leah had worked as a cashier at Marketplace, where she was always kind and met you with a smile. She had a heart made of gold. She was a cut-up, Queen of the pun, and one of a kind. She was the best one of us, and nothing you can say, share, or post could begin to describe the warmth of her laugh or how she fought like a lioness to the end. Always authentic and never mean for sport: she was just good. She was free-spirited and never met a stranger.
She is survived by her parents, Patty and Pevie Cotton; brother, Skylar Lee (Cara) Cotton of Frankfort, KY; sisters, Carrie Cotton of Frankfort and Mila Mason of Westmoreland, TN; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as cousins.
Funeral service will be at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home – Madisonville Chapel with Father Steve Hohman officiating.
Burial will follow at 12:00 P.M. Friday, October 23, 2026, at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until the service time Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Rick Chappell, Scott Chappell, Wesley Rainwater, Logan Rainwater, Jody Johnson, and Brandon Johnson.
