Shop Local with TEC

Host Leesa Boone welcomes new co-host David Freytag of TEC to discuss TEC’s expansion into Madisonville and its community-first approach. Freytag explains TEC’s 100+ year history as a small-town telephone company and how the company now targets underserved “middle” communities that are too large for rural grants yet too small for major national providers, addressing gaps in high-quality fiber internet access. He highlights TEC’s new role as naming sponsor for the Kentucky Sports Factory Connected by TEC and emphasizes a 20-year commitment to stay local, hire locally, open an office, and build long-term relationships. Freytag outlines early job openings including community relations, sales lead, and construction manager, and shares TEC’s culture focused on equipping, enabling, and empowering employees to deliver strong customer service.
