Margaret Helen Smith, 93, of Clay, KY passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at her residence.
She was born on February 21, 1933 in Livingston County to the late Elmer Harris and Hattie Glore Harris.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Smith; brothers, Elmer Harris, Tom Harris, Milburn Harris, Jack Harris, and Carroll Harris; sister, Billie Travis; and daughter-in-law, Jean Smith.
Margaret made her living as a house wife. She was a member of Nebo Baptist Church. Margaret was a very godly woman whose faith was huge.
She had an enormous love for her family. She also loved Christmas; at her house, it was Christmas all year long.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Meazle, Rama Lindsey, Thelma Morgan, Beverly Alexander, and Toni Jones; son, Johnny Smith; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren, along with several members of adopted family.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at Barnett-Strother – Providence Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Keelin and Bro. Terry Rhye officiating.
Burial will take place at Green Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday and from 11:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the funeral home in Providence.
Pallbearers will be Jason Sager, Zack Zaretzke, Timmy Smith, Jesse Morgan, Jeff Lamb, and Jay Alexander.
