This is the time of year for the hemp harvest. Meanwhile, Kentucky farmers know that Congress could determine if hemp-derived THC products remain legal. A number of them have invested heavily in the crop. Several bills have been introduced to preserve the industry. If Congress does not act by its December deadline, many say the industry would be “essentially shutdown.”

The State Board of Elections says the number of voters in our state has dropped by almost 5 percent since last year. The biggest reason is that Secretary of State Michael Adams took off voters that had been inactive for at least two federal election cycles due to death or moving out of state. Democrat registration dropped more than 8 percent and Republicans lost around 3 percent.
