Brenda Joyce Blanchard, 80 of Nortonville passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN.
Born April 18, 1946, to the late William Rickard and the late Doshie (Haley) Rickard Woodward.
She was a long-time active member of New Salem Baptist Church in Nortonville; she served as Sunday School teacher and taught Children’s Church over the years.
Brenda was a member of Eastern Star and participated with the Earlington Women’s BPW Club. Her work ethic and dedication shined throughout her employment with Hopkins County Heating and Plumbing along with her years at Goldenrod.
Brenda loved her family and she loved spending time with them. Her signature cakes and pies will be missed at the family holiday meals. Her pride and joy was her only grandchild, Trey; he always brought a smile to her face.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Flat Top” Blanchard; and brother, Sonny Rickard.
Survived by her son, Randy (Jeannie) Blanchard; daughter, Holly (Jess) Blanchard; grandson, Trey Blanchard; sister, Janice (Dave) Poole; two nephews; and one niece.
All of Brenda’s family and friends are invited to her graveside service Sunday at 2:00pm at Concord Cemetery in White Plains with Bro. Steve Rutherford officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30pm at the graveside. Pallbearers will be Chris Back, Brian Rickard, Nick Rodgers, Greg Rodgers, Trey Blanchard and Randy Blanchard.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to New Salem Baptist Church.
