A Madisonville woman is jailed on charges including rape and sexual abuse of two children. The police say the investigation of 25-year-old Aliyah Jones began earlier this month. Jones is being held on a $100,000 dollar bond, and is due in court on October 2nd.
The bicyclist who was struggling to keep his balance is what drew the attention of the police. The officers found that Mark Likins was under the influence of some drug. They located a glass smoking device in his possession, as well as meth, and a third, unknown substance. Then Likens admitted that he had taken some items from Dollar Tree. He was arrested on Madison Square Drive and charged with 5 crimes.
The new housing initiative in Webster County is coming into focus. State Senator Robby Mills says he was honored to present the fiscal court and the Industrial Development Authority with $2 million dollars for the project that will be called Sebree Springs. These funds will help the initial installation of roads and water lines that will lead to several new homes. Mills says these funds were made available by conservative budgeting and tax reduction that he has been working on as a state lawmaker. Mills says the funds did not come from former President Biden.
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is accepting applications for fall quota hunts for deer, waterfowl, pheasants and sandhill cranes. Hunters can apply for these annual quota hunts through midnight tonight (Wednesday), via the MyProfile online portal at the department’s website: It is: fw.ky.gov.
The Madisonville Police Department is reporting that in recent days there has been an increase in scam reports. Individuals may be contacted by someone claiming to be a law enforcement officer, court official, or government representative. The caller may threaten arrest, fines, or other legal consequences and demand immediate payment, often through Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, gift cards, or other difficult-to-trace methods. If you receive such a call, do not send money, and verify the information through an official source.
The Madisonville police in an unmarked car are reporting an arrest at a suspected drug house on South Daves Street. The officer who was speaking with Clarence Stone discovered that he was in possession of synthetic drugs. Stone was transported to jail.
The MPD is reporting the traffic stop of a driver who ran through a stop sign. The officer reported a strong alcoholic odor as he began speaking with Danny Johnson. He also appeared to be intoxicated. An open alcoholic beverage was visible, as was a baggie of meth. Johnson then took and failed a sobriety test.
The state police are now recruiting Troopers for cadet class 108. Graduates could receive a post close to home. Interested persons should register for a Fitness Test and Oral Board on October 15th at Southeast Missouri State University.
