In Madisonville, the state is shutting down a rest home. Former employees of The Homestead Personal Care Home say they are still waiting to be paid. The facility has been notified that their operations were not up to code. The building is infested with bed bugs and mice, and the residents have regularly gone without food. Management has yet to issue a statement .
A Providence resident who failed to use her turn signal is facing two drug charges. Julia Reisig was stopped on South Harrig Street and refused to allow the officer to check her vehicle for illegal narcotics. When a K-9 arrived, the dog located two loaded syringes, suspected meth, a meth pipe, and a number of drug paraphernalia items in Reisig’s GM Conventional Cab 4 by 4.
The senator running for re-election to the state senate for Hopkins, Henderson, Union, and Webster counties is glad to be supported by the Kentucky Student Rights Coalition. The organization says Robbie Mills is protecting student’s rights to free speech, due process, and educational opportunity.
