Wilma Jean Phelps, 81 of Mortons Gap passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026.
She was born December 19, 1944 in Madisonville to the late Jake and Leota Skaggs Phelps.
Jean enjoyed watching Andy Griffith and Sanford & Son reruns; The Young & the Restless; and Yellowstone.
She loved her family and was of Christian faith.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her: brother, Winford Ramsey; sister, Bonnie Ruth Phelps; niece, Lori Kapchinsky; and nephew, Wayne Ramsey.
Jean is survived by her loving son, Chris (Martha) Phelps or Mortons Gap; grandsons, Jacob and Andrew Phelps; sister, Judy Stinson of Claremore, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; and caregiver, John Gipson of Mortons Gap.
Visitation for Jean will be Tuesday, September 22nd at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville from 5-7 pm and Wednesday, September 23rd 11-1 pm.
Services will begin at 1 pm at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 23rd with Bro. Jonathan Harrelson officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Greens Chapel Cemetery in Greenville, KY.
