Leontine Kaye Thurby Orrick, 80, of Nebo, KY, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Manitou, KY.
She was born on September 28, 1945, in Henderson, KY, to the late Christine Love Gish Thurby and Thomas Houston Thurby. Kaye worked in dietary management at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home and retired from the Joseph Eddie Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, KY. She enjoyed working in her yard and refurbishing furniture.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Love Orrick; brothers, Gillie Thomas Thurby, Jr., James R. Thurby and Larry G. Thurby; and her sister, Christine M. Thurby Farmer.
Survivors include her son, Ernest Lee (Tobie) Orrick, Jr. of Sebree, KY; daughter, LaDonna (Bryan) Scott of Manitou, KY; grandchildren, Brittany Orrick, Matthew (Alyssa) Orrick, Megan (Tyler) Henry, Justin (Christian) Graham, Shane (Lacey) Graham, Taylor Beckett, Makenzie Gibson, Hunter (Mira) Scott and Makaylee Scott; great grandchildren, Piper, Winter and Evelyn Graham and Matilyn and Hazel Orrick and Ellie Oglesby; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Pastor Jackie Dale Townsend officiating.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.
