The FBI in Louisville and the Madisonville Police Department are reporting the arrest of a child predator on federal child sexual abuse charges. 24-year-old Aaron Lockman is from Corydon, Indiana. The investigation was tied to a former Kentucky school superintendent where the two exchanged child sexual abuse material. The investigation stemmed from a broader probe that began with the March 2024 arrest of the former superintendent of Owensboro Public Schools, Matthew Constant. Federal investigators reviewing Constant’s case uncovered the internet conversations with Lockman discussing a mutual sexual interest in children and exchanging illegal child sexual abuse material.
One of the common reasons for a traffic stop is an outdated registration tag. When Scott McCallister was stopped on North Street, he also could not provide proof of insurance. The officer also located an open bottle of alcohol in McCallister’s Dodge Dakota.
The Dawson Springs city council has a special meeting this afternoon. It will include the 2nd reading of the property tax ordinance for 2026. The meeting begins at 5:30 at 200 West Arcadia Avenue.
Kentucky Congressman James Comer continues to blow the whistle on pharmacy benefit managers. He said they were created to negotiate drug prices down, but that’s not happening. Representative Comer claims they have have taken advantage of Americans through deceptive practices that drive up the cost of prescription drugs.

Not using a turn signal is a common reason for a traffic stop. When that happened to Landen Knoth on Island Ford Road, the officer couldn’t help but notice that Knoth’s driver’s license was suspended. This resulted in Knoth being transported to the detention center.
An MPD officer is being recognized. Dustin Scott was honored with the Governor’s Occupant Protection Award for his outstanding commitment to keeping our community safe through seat belt and child restraint enforcement and education. This award recognizes law enforcement officers who go above and beyond to promote traffic safety.
It’s called the GRADD One Stop Shop Resource Event. It’s purpose is to connect residents with local training grants, healthcare, business and career resources, and community support agencies. The event is today from 10 until noon in downtown Owensboro in front of the Riverpark Center.

The governor has directed that all state office buildings lower their flags to half-staff for one week to honor and remember legendary entertainer Dolly Parton, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 80.
