Donald Richard “Pat” Adams, 84, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026, at St. Anthony’s Hospice in Henderson, KY, surrounded by his family.
He was born on March 17, 1942, in Levittown, PA to the late Robert Dallas Adams and Carolyn Virginia Rose Adams. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Helen Dame Adams; and his one brother, Robert Dallas Adams.
Pat worked as a P.E. and Health teacher for Hopkins County Schools. He is most well known for playing Santa Claus during Christmas Time.
He was also a member of Madisonville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church as well as the Madisonville Elks Lodge #738. He was a big Madisonville Miners and Bethel University fan.
He is survived by his son, Heath (Natalie) Adams of Princeton, KY; his granddaughter, Claire Adams; and several nieces and nephews, Dallas Adams lll, Andrew Adams, Elizabeth Carroll, and Phillip Adams.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home – Madisonville Chapel with Rev. Shelley Hunt officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday, August 14, 2026, and from 10:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenny Stewart, Horace Clayton, Rick Pryor, Jim Meyer, Ray Kempf, and Jim Schurr.
