Norman Dale Johnson, 72 of Slaughters KY passed away on July 15, 2026, at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. He was born April 23, 1954, in Mayfield, KY to the late Henry Sig Johnson and Joanne Sullivan Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Dale Johnson; along with his brother, Donald Johnson; sister, Carolyn Hinton; and grandson, Ryan Johnson. After marrying the love of his life in 1974, the late Gloria Cook Johnson, they moved to Hopkins County where Norman worked most his adult life at Ahlstrom. Norman served in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1974. Then went into the Army Reserve until 1976. He loved collecting knives, watching UK basketball, and going hunting on his farm until his health declined. He loved his family and friends. Now it’s time to say, “Norm out.” Left behind to cherish his memories are his two sons, Andrew (Tara) Johnson of Madisonville, KY and Bryan (Heather) Johnson of Greenville, KY; brother, Joe (Maryanne) Johnson of Cadiz, KY; sister-in-law, Olivia Mixon; brother-in-law, John Mixon; grandchildren; Collyn (Brittany) Johnson of Scottsville, KY, Haleigh (Nathan) Schneider of Madisonville, Tucker, Tyson and Trey all of Greenville, KY; and one great granddaughter, Layla Johnson of Scottsville. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday July 19, 2026 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Joe K. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery in Hanson. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Saturday and from 12:00 P.M. until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jojo Wiggins, Nathan Schneider, Collyn Johnson, Jerry Gibson, Bruce Shelton, and Merritt Warren. Honorary pallbearers will be Tucker Johnson, Tyson Johnson, Trey Johnson, Kevin Hicks, and Steve Provost.
