Obituary

James Dwight Todd, Sr., 62, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at his home.He was born on October 23, 1963, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Norma Jean Wiggins Todd and Hules Todd, Jr. He was a mine foreman for Advent Mines and also worked at several other coal mines. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping at the lake, mowing, writing, and organizing his tools. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. James was a member of Hall Street Apostolic Church in Madisonville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Sherry Todd.

His survivors include his wife of forty-two years, Tina Turner Todd of Madisonville; daughter, Laura Todd of Madisonville; sons, Jacob Todd and Michael Todd, both of Madisonville, and James (Darrien Patterson) Todd, Jr. of Nortonville, KY; brothers, Rev. Bobby (Dana) Todd of Madisonville, Darwin “Snoopy” (Missy) Todd of Corydon, KY, Ricky Allen (Diane) Terry of Madisonville; sister, Linda Sue Todd of Madisonville; grandchildren, Rubi Jean, Ka’Leah, Kaylee, Kans’Leah, Jayce, Jayden, Elaine Jeannette, Khaliq, Kevin Jr., and Khali’Ona; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Todd and Ricky Todd officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour on Monday at the funeral home.
