A new Kentucky law requires certain adults enrolled in Medicaid to meet an 80 hour-per-month work requirement to be eligible for benefits. The requirement applies to any adults between the ages of 19 to 64. The law does not apply to those who are pregnant and the parents and caretakers of children under 14. The law also does not apply to those in postpartum, those who are disabled or are medically frail, and their caretakers. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services say those enrolled in Medicare are exempt., as well as American Indians and Alaska Natives.
The Kentucky Community and Technical College System is making it easier for students, faculty, staff, and visitors at each of the 16 campuses to access resources. The new mobile experience creates a single digital front door that connects academics, services, communications, events, and campus life for each campus and all 120-thousand students into one cohesive experience. In other words, the new platform brings everything together in one place, making it easier for students to access resources, stay informed, and connect with their campus community.
Research shows that about one in 14 Kentuckians who rely on food assistance have lost their benefits since the implementation of House Resolution 1, also known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. SNAP provides nine meals for every one meal provided by a food bank.

The driver of a vehicle that had been involved in an accident who was walking down the middle of North Main Street is being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Even though police officers commanded her to stop, Cassie Davis did not stop until officers had to physically take control. The police decided that Davis was too intoxicated to take the sobriety test. Inside the Nissan Altima, officers located an open container of alcohol. They also learned that Davis had a suspended license.
The governor’s extension of the gas tax sounds good on the surface, but most county governments and are against it. Madisonville mayor Kevin Cotton says that’s because it reduces the funds needed to do local road repairs.
