Obituary

Carolyn “Carol” Cloern Williams, also known as Granny to many, 79, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at her home.She was born on October 1, 1946, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Rose Langley Cloern and Ralph Cloern. She was an optometric assistant and retired in 2009 with Dr. Charles French and Dr. Gene Stinnett. She sang and played gospel music for many years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Carol was a member of the Madisonville Seventh-day Adventist Church and also attended Pritchett’s Chapel in Madisonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Davis; and her second husband, Robert Williams.

Her survivors include her daughter, Dewan Baxter of Madisonville; son, Tim (Wendy) Davis of Madisonville; adopted son, Keneuk (Leslie) Helton of Madisonville; sister Wendy Cloern of Madisonville; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two nephews.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Don Watson and Bill Crofton officiating and assisted by Pastor Steve Terry. Burial to follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Hanson, KY.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Chris Pettus, Randy Bickers, Clifford Williams, Kent Baldwin, Jeremy Dwire, and Jason Bryant.
