In Madisonville, people are wondering what’s happening at a car dealership. The employees of Adrian Nissan of Madisonville say they have gone more than a month without a paycheck. They say that without notice, the business shut its doors last month. It’s being reported that the closure came about as the result of a lawsuit from the Nissan motor company. Court documents indicate the dealership sold vehicles financed through an agreement with Nissan, but failed to make payments to the lender.
A bar owner in Madisonville is accused of getting aggressive with the police. It’s reported that when the officer attempted to arrest Timothy Desoto of the Brick Bar on West Center Street, he tried to fight the officer to get away. Desoto is charged with disorderly conduct.
In Muhlenberg County, Kentucky Utilities is working to determine what caused a power outage to more than 700 people in the Graham area Monday morning. They say it began around 9:30. In Central City, there also was a power outage. Dispatchers believe it was related to a transformer problem.
The Webster County Water District is reporting that their customers should now have their water service restored. They say there may still be some air in the system, but they’re working to reduce it. Residents without water service. should report it to the water district.
In McLean County, the fiscal court wants to study the potential impact of a wind energy project. For one year, they will not grant permits for small-scale wind energy conversion systems, industrial-scale systems, as well as wind energy projects and towers. They just say they need time to study the potential negative effects of wind energy installations.

The Madisonville police are reporting that they confiscated a large bag of meth in a traffic stop Saturday afternoon. 69-year-old James Gunn was stopped on East Center Street and Midtown Boulevard. The officers also found a second bag containing a pipe and more meth. Gunn was jailed on a 10-thousand dollar cash bond.
In Madisonville, the police are reporting the arrest of an intoxicated man at the Festus Clayborn Splash Park. They say 57-year-old Ralph Butler is on the sex offender registry and not allowed to be around playgrounds and parks. The officers discovered that Butler had been smoking a joint.
In Washington, the head of the House Oversight Committee is grateful to the nine government whistleblowers in Minnesota for their effort to deal with fraud. On Fox News, Representative James Comer says these individuals did the right thing.
The governor says budget cuts will have to be made to departments and programs within the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Mr. Beshear says this includes Medicaid, foster care, and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program. Cabinet for Health and Family Services Secretary Steven Stack says the legislature also failed to increase funding for inflationary growth across programs where costs have increased. The legislature says their budget was fiscally responsible and protected essential services.
