A Madisonville man is charged with defrauding bourbon collectors in several states. The police claim 38-year-old James Willetts received more than 86-thousand dollars by using Facebook bourbon groups to sell what he claimed was highly sought-after, allocated alcohol. He then shipped U-P-S packages from Madisonville and provided tracking numbers and receipts to buyers to legitimize the transactions. His victims were in three states. Even though Willetts is incarcerated, the investigation is still underway.

He says this move will allow more Kentuckians to get the relief they need. He says medical cannabis has been found to decrease dependency on dangerous opioids.
There are times when a police officer knows that a driver does not have what he needs in order to be driving legally. When a traffic stop was done on Loretta Forbes on East Center Street in Madisonville, she could not provide her driver’s license because it was suspended. During the stop, the officer spotted a T-H-C vape pen and there was the smell of marijuana. A search of her Ford Mustang produced a large quantity of meth and marijuana. Additionally, Forbes vehicle was not insured.
No one knows what started a major house fire yesterday afternoon in Greenville. It began just after one o’clock at the corner of College and East Depot. No one was hurt but the fire included an exploding aluminum oxygen cylinder that firefighters said was heard over four blocks away.
In Webster County, a boil water advisory remains in effect for all of it water customers. The Water District says say the piping at the water treatment plant needs to be replaced due to its slow production.
The gas pipeline leak and fire in Graham is still being investigated. Although the fire is out, State Route 175 will remain closed between State Road 62 and Bards Hill Road, except for residential use. In fact, KY 175 could remain closed all week. Authorities say the contamination impact from the BP gas pipeline leak is minimal .
Kentucky Congressman James Comer is launching an investigation into insider trading on prediction market platforms. He says members of Congress should not be participating in prediction market betting, along with government employees and individuals serving in the president’s administration.
