A bicyclist the police described as manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance who had been contacted earlier about prowling around some Park Avenue residences is facing two charges. On the way to jail, Douglas Simmons told the officer that he had stolen the bicycle, but was unable to tell him where he got the bike.

The new State Long-Term-Care Ombudsman is Jodi Holsclaw. Holsclaw has been with the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program since 2015. Holsclaw has focused her work on resident advocacy, education, and strengthening awareness of long-term care issues. She replaces Sherry Culp who retired.
