The man who attempted to avoid the Madisonville police is facing drug and trespassing charges. Matthew Hull was seen inside a parked Kia Sportage on East Center Street but refused to agree with the officer that he had been inside. Hull was found to be in possession of two C-D’s with the name of the automobile’s owner on them. Hull also had some other items from the car. When contacted, the owner confirmed that all of the items were his. Central Dispatch informed the officer that Hull also had an active arrest warrant.
A call to the Madisonville police alerted them about a reckless driver. When they located Zachery McKensie on Nebo Road, Zachery handed the officer his debit card instead of his driver’s license. He never found his insurance card. After a blood test at the regional training center, McKensie was transported to the county jail. He faces five charges, including driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
Kentucky Congressman James Comer says a Minnesota lawmaker is in big trouble. He claims Representative (EE-lon OH-mahrz) Ilhan Omar’s financial disclosure forms are inaccurate. Comer appeared on Fox Business.
The Hopkins County Health Department is now accepting bids for a new mid-sized extended 4-door, 4-wheel-drive pickup truck. Sealed bids must be mailed to the Health Department. Each bid must have the printed words: SEALED BID on the outside of the envelope. The deadline is May 18th at 4 PM.
The driver of a Chevrolet Camaro making numerous lane changes on I-69 is what led a police officer to do a traffic stop. The officer reported that there was a strong, odor of alcohol and marijuana inside Travis Gorz’s vehicle. Gorz was in possession of marijuana and cocaine, as well as drug paraphernalia. Gorz was transported to the detention cener.

The state police are learning how to use their new helicopter. They say the Bell 429 will enhance their effectiveness. The training involves the Aircraft Support Branch and the Kentucky Emergency Management and Urban Search and Rescue Task Force.
A federal grant will enhance the state’s Sexual Assault Kit Initiative . The state police say the program identifies suspects through D-N-A testing. The objective of the initiative is to solve cases as well as bring closure and a feeling of safety.
It’s spring concert time again at the Glema. Tomorrow (Tuesday), at 5:45, the James Madison Middle School Band takes the stage, followed by the Madisonville North musicians at 7. Both concerts are free.
