Patricia Ann Atwell, 74

Patricia Ann Atwell, 74, of Madisonville, KY passed away Sunday February 1, 2026 at Madisonville Health and Rehab. She was born December 31, 1951 in Fleming County, KY to the late Harold George Ledbetter and Thelma Imogene Payne Ledbetter. Patricia was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, as well as the Hopkins County Genealogical Society. She was an area representative of Greyhound Pets of North America for the Tristate. Greyhounds were her passion, and she adopted seven greyhounds in her lifetime: Miss Neva, Stallion, Sadie, Candy, Miss Becca, Cappy, and Nutter Butter. In addition to her greyhounds, she also owned four other fur babies: Katie, Smokey, Brandy, and Dixie. She enjoyed arts and crafts with ceramics being her favorite, in addition to quilting. She loved getting together with her friends for card games. She had an abundance of friends and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harold Atwell of Madisonville; one daughter, Michele Garcia; one sister, Faye Ledbetter Walker; one brother, Pete McGowan; and five grandchildren, Destina Lopez, Anthony Arroyo, Jodezy Arroyo, Laura Cohn, and Daniel Cohn. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 6, 2026, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Father Steve Hohman officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the service time Friday at the funeral home.
