Sherwin Rogers Obituary
Sherwin Gaylon Rogers, 86, of Cadiz, KY passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026.
He was born on May 16,1939 in St. Charles KY to the late Jewell “Pug” and Dorothy “Monkey” Rogers.
Gaylon was of the Christian faith. He was a member of the UMWA, and he had served in the US Army. He had retired from Island Creek Coal Company where he worked as a coal miner and was a truck driver. Gaylon loved travel, RVing, and his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Murray Yvonne Rogers and his sister and brother-in-law Jean and Sam Offutt.
Gaylon is survived by his wife, Nancy Rogers of Cadiz, KY; his four children Shannon(Terry) McGregor of Mortons Gap, KY, Dwayne (Michelle Vachon) Rogers of Mortons Gap, KY, Ruby Goodaker of Madisonville, KY Twana Goodaker of Madisonville, KY, two brothers Ken (Helen) Rogers of Greenville, KY and Neal Rogers of Mortons Gap, KY; seven grandchildren Alaysha Scott, Bethany Rogers, Dustin Carlisle, Savannah Kessinger, Wendy Kolb, Crystal Smith, and Jessie Nichols; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 1:00PM on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville, KY with Bro. Jeff Todd officiating. Pallbearers will be,
Bryan Rogers, Dustin Carlisle, Treg Scott, MJ Rogers, Tavin Scott and Jessie Nichols.
Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY is in charge of the arrangements.
