Shirley Vandiver, 84

Shirley Vandiver, 84, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Madisonville Health and Rehab. She was born on October 29, 1940, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Kent Hendricks and Fairy Edline Forbes Hendricks. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Glenn Vandiver; sisters, Betty Jean Wagoner and Doris Marks; and brother, Bobby Hendricks. Shirley made her living as a homemaker and was a member of Lonestar Church in Madisonville. She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Chadley) Ladd of Madisonville; sons, Kent Ross (Bennette) Vandiver of Birmingham, AL, and Kirk Douglas Vandiver of Madisonville; sister, Lou (David) Adams of Madisonville; brother, David (Susan) Hendricks of Madisonville; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, October 20, 2025, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home – Madisonville Chapel with Rev. Shelby Hendricks officiating. Entombment will take place privately at Forest Lawn Memorial Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 12:30 P.M. until the service time on Monday at the funeral home.
