Dorothy “Dot” England, 85, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Saturday April 5, 2025 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville. She was born February 11, 1940 in Adair County, KY to the late William Elzie Brockman and Arva Rice Brockman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe M. England; siblings, Bernice Mudd, Chester “Buddy” Brockman, and Marilyn Brockman; and son-in-law, Kenneth Koster.
Dot made her living as a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for about 60 years. While she was at the church, she started the Acts of Kindness ministry to help provide bereavement meals. Following her passion for helping people, she spent time volunteering and visiting many nursing homes and senior citizen centers in the community, including serving with Meals on Wheels. She spent her free time playing bridge and loved when her grandchildren would visit. She had a love for babies and the elderly. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly England Anderson of Madisonville and Kimberly England Koster of Brentwood, TN; son, Brad (Leigh) England of Madisonville; sister, Carolyn Moore of Georgetown, KY; brother, Colby Brockman of Georgetown; and six grandchildren, Ben and Brian Anderson, Emily and Bradley Koster; and Kelly Jo and Clay England.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday April 9, 2025 at First United Methodist Church in Madisonville with Rev. Loletuth Kalz officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time Wednesday at the church. Pallbearers will be Ben Anderson, Brian Anderson, Bradley Koster, and Clay England.
