Ruth Diane Johnson Tucker, 82, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, at her home.
She was born on August 19, 1942, in Chicago, IL, to the late Helen Acres Johnson and Verne Johnson. She was formerly employed by Buckhorn in Dawson Springs, KY. She enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Ruth was a member of Victory Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-five years, Nathan Dale Tucker; sons, Charles Allen Carter and William “Billy” Carter; and her son-in-law, Troy Ellis.
Her survivors include her daughters, Diane (Kenny) Rhye of Madisonville, Becky Ellis of Madisonville, Dineen (Roger) Jacob of Oklahoma, and Darlene Clarke of Earlington, KY; sons, Jimmy (Kim) Carter of Gallatin, TN, and Michael (Scherita) Carter of Earlington; brother, Michael (Connie) Johnson of Madisonville; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Kris Goodman officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
The pallbearers are Trontsay Ellis, Matthew Carter, James Michael Smith, John Rhye, Nathan Carter, and Michael Israel Carter. The honorary pallbearers are Duane Carter and Kevin Richardson.
