Rebecca Gail DeMoss, 80, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, KY.
She was born on October 10, 1944, in Ashbyburg, KY, to the late Willie Hazel Coffman DeMoss and Hiram Taylor DeMoss. Rebecca Gail graduated from Murray State University and was retired from the Hopkins County Board of Education and was the assistant coordinator at Murry State University in the Continuing Education Department. She enjoyed in her spare time studying the Bible, reading, writing novels, and crocheting. Rebecca Gail was a member of Grapevine Baptist Church in Madisonville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Hiram Glenn DeMoss; sister, Patricia Anne DeMoss; and her brother in law, Larry Harper.
Survivors include her sisters, Sharon DeMoss Harper of Madisonville and Karen DeMoss (Rick) LeGrand of Earlington, KY; nieces, Alisha DeMoss (Lee) Galligher, Celestine Harper, Hope Harper (Steve) Dowdy, Christie LeGrand (Kevin) Merrell and Lindsey LeGrand (Matt) Stewart; nephew, Will (Erin) Harper; seven great nieces; two great nephews; and her close friend and neighbor, Verna Poindexter.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Reverend Beverly Freund officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Wednesday at the funeral home.
