Mary “Agnes” Parker, 96, of Madisonville, KY passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.
Mary was born March 15, 1928, in Madisonville, to the late Floyd Hill and Bessie Hill. She was also preceded in death by her Husband, Willis Parker; one brother, J.D. Hill; and her stepmother, Lucille Hill.
“Agnes Parker was a one-of-a-kind woman, strong but gentle in heart. An excellent conversationalist with a tremendous sense of humor, which she shared generously with everybody, and enjoyed by everyone. She was loved, she will be remembered, and she made us all better people by knowing her”.
She was the Owner of Texaco Gas Distributorship. She enjoyed watching the Tennessee Lady Vols and watching St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. In addition, she enjoyed bowling and tending to her flowers.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Faye Parker of Madisonville, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville with Mr. Shannon Embry officiating and Mrs.Tracey Embry assisting. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until the service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hopkins County Humane Society.
