Donald G. Richey, 86, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Baptist Deaconess Hospital in Madisonville.
He was born on April 12, 1938, in Bessemer, Alabama, to the late Curry E. Richey, Sr. and Myrtie Miller Richey. Don was a former coalminer and worked at True Value Hardware in his semi-retirement. Besides his family, Don loved his fur baby, Roxy more than anything!
In addition to his parents, Don was proceeded in death by his wife of sixty years, Patricia Sue Space Richey; his brother, Curry E. Richey, Jr; sisters, Mary E. Hardin and Mildred J. Ray, all of Alabama.
Survivors include his sons and daughter- in-law, Rick (Sandy) Richey of Hopkinsville, KY, Rob (Tina) Richey of Murray, KY and Ron (Angie) Richey of Cadiz, KY; sister Bobbie (Gary) Bright of Bonnerdale, AK; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony (Pam) Space of Madisonville, KY and Mike (Linda) Space of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Jordan (Joel) Lemster of Smiths Grove, KY, Alec Richey (Kacey) of Nashville, TN, Savannah Richey (Zac) of Ashland City TN, Jack and Miles Richey of Murray, KY and Chandlar Wilson of Cadiz, KY; great-grandchildren, Presley, Clark, Canaan, Kent and Chaney Lemster of Smiths Grove, KY.
There will be no public funeral services and a private family service will be held at a later date at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville is entrusted with care.
