Thelma Oakley, 89, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024, at her daughter’s residence in Dixon, KY.
She was born September 23, 1934, to the late Claude Tanner and Susan Ellsworth Tanner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Edward Oakley; three sons, Mark Edward Oakley, Michael Joseph Oakley, and Frank Edward Oakley Jr.; a daughter, Suzanna Hancock; three brothers, and one sister.
Thelma enjoyed going on car rides anywhere, she loved shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacey (Terry) Turner of Dixon; 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday September 27, 2024, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home Providence Chapel in Providence, with Bro. Jody Hughes officiating. A burial will follow at Blackford Cemetery in Blackford, KY.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the service time Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital or St. Anthonys Hospice.
