The Madisonville Police Department is telling the story of the man in the Baptist Health Deaconess Emergency Room who was disappointed that he was not getting his way. They say William Risk threatended to kick the nurses and staff and take hostages. After a brief altercastion, Risk was handcuffed and transported to jail. He faces three charges, including terroristic threatening.
The traffic stop of a motorist for following a vehicle too closely on I-69 is what led to an arrest. Jamila Hill was a backseat passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt and was in possession of a controlled substance. Hill said she found the baggies of suspected M-D-M-A ecstasy at a club in Atlanta and placed them in her belongings.
The Hopkins County Fiscal Court will be in session this morning at 10 at the Government Center.
The road work on West Center Street continues today. The state says all vehicles must be removed. Any vehicle parked on West Center Street will be towed at the owner’s expense. Milling and paving work is being done from Boggess Boulevard to Main Street.
The state senator representing Hopkins, Webster, Henderson, and Union counties is the recipient of an award from The Family Foundation. Robby Mills was presented with the Steadfast Award for his support for family-friendly social policy. Mills says he’ll continue to support and encourage traditional, rural Kentucky values.
An F-F-A team from Hopkins Central is on its way to next month’s state contest for Land-judging and Homesite evaluation. For the school, this is a three-peat for land judging, and back-to-back regional championships in Homesite.
Here’s the case of the man who was driving his car at 2 miles an hour in the middle of the night. The police say Christopher Turner’s vehicle came to a stop at North Main and Island Ford Road with Turner yelling loudly from his Kia Rio. Turner refused to honor any of the commands of the police, and stated that the only way to stop him would be to kill him. Fortunately, the officers were able to remove Turner from the vehicle. Synthetic drugs were visible inside the car. For the safety of the officers and medical personnnel, Turner did not have a blood draw.
Representatives of the Green River Area Development District are attending the National Association of Development Organizations Annual Training Conference in Salt Lake City. It’s described as an incredible opportunity to gain new ideas, share best practices, and build relationships that will strengthen collaboration across our communities for years to come.

Was it a school fire drill or was it a real fire? The M-F-D says while on the way to Jesse Stuart Elementary on Anton Road the other day, they got the word that it was ..a fire drill. So, the fire crew turned around and went back headquarters.
