There are more arrests in the fake I-D trafficking case. With the assistance of the Union County Sheriff’s Office, the Madisonville police arrested two Sturgis residents: 37-year-old Mauro Santiago and 24-year-old Asya (AH-see-uh) Cano. The authorities found items to make fake i-ds and debit cards. Earlier this week, the M-P-D arrested Kimberly Brito who was selling fake I-Ds out of Delgado’s Tax shop in Madisonville on West Center Street. Santiago and Cano were also charged with possessing forgery devices.
The Madisonville-Hopkins County Economic Development Corporation is back from this year’s Association of the United States Army Annual Meeting & Exposition in Washington D-C.
They say it was a productive two days, meeting with companies in the defense and aerospace sectors who are exploring locations for expansion and supply chain support. The E-D-C shared why Madisonville should be considered a strong contender.
The city of Madisonville has its fall shred day at the Parkway Plaza Mall on Saturday, October 18th from 10 until 1. There’s a 5 box limit.

The Madisonville police are announcing another arrest in the trafficking of fraudulent driver’s licenses. 51-year-old Sarah Smith of Madisonville sold an undercover cop a fradulent I-D at Delgado’s Tax Shop at 108 West Center Street. A search warrant was executed, and the undercover’s fraudulent documents were recovered. Evidence was found on Smith’s phone linking her to the crime. So far, at least three persons will be facing charges.
A volunteer basketball coach in Dawson Springs who was arrested for making threats, is being let go. Judd Tyson is charged with two counts of Terroristic Threatening. The school system says they did a full investigation.
In Central City, tomorrow (Saturday the 18th) is prescription drug take back day. The police are overseeing the prescription and narcotics take back event. It will be from 9 until 1 at the True North Treatment Center at 1-14 South Second Street. Participants are asked to remove the medication from the container .

The Madisonville church that has organized two mission trips to Cuba this year is reporting 632 professions of faith. Kentucky Today is reporting that Grapevine Baptist says the first trip was in March and the second one was this month. Pastor Mark Partin says the 8-member team also held eye clinics. Cuba is a Communist country and is closed to the gospel.
