Obituary
She was born on December 13, 1941, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Anna Mae Tippett Clayton and Leslie Roland Clayton. She worked as a secretary for many years for Cimarron and Andalex Coal Mines. For over forty years, she was very involved and worked with the Hopkins County 4-H. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, yard sales, and was an avid UK basketball fan. Granny was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Ray Cartwright.
Her survivors include her son, Ray Alan (Kim) Cartwright; daughter, Malisa Ann Cunningham; brother, Max “Butch” (Becky) Clayton; grandchildren, Amie Catherine (Mark) Knight, Kahra Beth (Josh) Bumpus, Phillip Van (Rachael) Killough, Matthew Dean (Brianna) Cunningham, and Corey LeeAnn Cunningham; and great-grandchildren, Maddox Knight, Emma Killough, Kinslee Knight, Maggie Killough, Joel Bumpus, RainLynn Cunningham, Leighton Bumpus, Rylee Cunningham, Adalyne Cunningham, and Rayegan Cunningham.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Bumpus and Pastor Bill Bursztynski officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Ray Cartwright, Van Killough, Mark Knight, Maddox Knight, Joel Bumpus, and Kenny Ray. Honorary pallbearers are Max “Butch” Clayton, Daniel Cartwright, W.C. Wilson, and Matthew Cunningham.
