Obituary
She was born on September 24, 1941, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Annie Lucille Littlepage Putnam and Vernan Lee Putnam. She enjoyed decorating, shopping, ceramics, painting, and camping. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Bernice was a member of Celebration House of Worship in Madisonville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Larry Wayne Nance; brother, Clarence Putman; and her sister, Saundra Jo Maddox.
Her survivors include her son, Darren (Valerie) Nance of Nortonville; daughter, Pamela (Gary) Cavanaugh of Nortonville; sister, Priscilla (Bobby) Lane Renshaw of Dyersburg, TN; brother, Johnny (Penny) Wayne Putman of Sebree, KY; grandsons, Tait (Elizabeth) Cavanaugh and Josiah Nance; granddaughters, Nina (Mark) James, Kayla (William) Fox, and Bethany (Adrian) Rendon; great-grandsons, Addison Lander and Liam Fox; great-granddaughters, Rachel James, Rebekah James, Abigail Cavanaugh, Layla Fox, and Natalie Fox; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Renshaw officiating. Burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Tait Cavanaugh, Mark James, Josiah Nance, William Fox, Shawn Maddox, and Isiah Ennis.
