The Madisonville police are crediting an arrest to the Law Enforcement Information Network of Kentucky and the National Crime Information Center. The M-P-D was informed about a vehicle on I-69 with an expired registration, as well as questionable insurance coverage. During the traffic stop, the driver could not produce proof of insurance and exhibited signs of intoxication. Justin Holman’s driver’s license had been suspended in Missouri. The sobriety test indicated Holman was under the influence of alcohol. Several open alcohol containers were located.
A former fire chief in Webster County is jailed on a charge of Abuse of the Public Trust. There’s evidence that Chad Cullen used state aid grants and other sources to make personal purchases and non-authorized expenditures. Cullen has been indicted by a grand jury and was arrested last week. It says that Cullen committed the crime while serving as fire chief for three years beginning in 2022.
Careless driving is what caused a cop to do a traffic stop on Skyline Drive the other night. After being given permission by Craig Bloomer to search the vehicle, the officer located a broken glass pipe with meth residue. Bloomer was then transported to the detention center.
Kentucky Youth Advocates and Bloom Kentucky say childhood trauma is costing our state millions each year. The damaging trama most commonly originates from divorce, household substance use, and emotional abuse. Here is Hannah Edelen with Kentucky Youth Advocates. (Clip in audio below)
Hopkins County of one of six that the state is helping with build-ready, job-ready site development efforts. The governor says the state wants to make sure communities have the tools and support needed to secure economic development projects that can create jobs. The Fiscal Court will be completing a due diligence study on an industrial site. The Economic Development Corporation is providing a 15 percent match to go with the Kentucky Product Development Initiative funds.
Around a month from now, Madisonville’s new shopping center just off Island Ford Road should be going into operation . There will be a staggered opening date. Not all of the stores will open on the same day. City Administrator Rob Saint says traffic will be a problem until a couple of new roads are completed. (Clip in audio below)

Site Selection is recognized as the leading publication in corporate real estate, facility planning, location analysis and foreign direct investment. Muhlenberg is one of four Kentucky counties on the list. The rankings highlight the proposed Repkon U-S-A – Defense L-L-C project and the groundbreaking for Biomass Engineering and Equipment. The magazine recognition shows that Kentucky is an economic leader.
In Muhlenberg County, the Felix E. Martin Junior Hall will be the site of the Louisville Orchestra concert on Thursday. Tickets are free but they need to be reserved in advance.. The event is part of the orchestra’s Commonwealth Tour.
