Obituary
She was born on November 24, 1928, in Hartford, KY, to the late Orpha D. King Richeson and Samuel Lafeyette Richeson. She was formerly the supervisor over catalog and credit at J.C. Penney Store in Madisonville. She loved family reunions. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren. Madeline was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville where she sang for several years in the choir, was active in their Young at Heart Group, and loved being in Return to Bethlehem.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Gene” Marshall Hibbs; son, Robert Eugene Hibbs; five brothers, and two sisters.
Her survivors include her daughter, Leslie Huddleston of Madisonville; sons, John (Anita) Hibbs of Altamont, KS, and Mark Hibbs of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Kevin (Amanda) Huddleston, Jeremy (Mary) Huddleston, Renea (Doug) Stevens, Marshall (Caroline) Hibbs, and Phillip (Erin) Hibbs; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Bro. Bill McCann officiating and Trace McCann assisting. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Jack Huddleston, Bennett Huddleston, Drake Huddleston, and Ron Sanders.
