Ramona “Nyoka” Hawes, 72, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.
She was born on February 18, 1953, in Greenville, KY, to the late Lula Latham Nesmith and Billy Joe Hawes. She enjoyed painting and Facebook. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Nyoka was of the Pentecostal faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Shawn Hawes and Joe Hawes.
Survivors include her daughters, Amanda Groves of Madisonville and Sabrina Tankersley; sister, Cindy (Eddie) Barber of Earlington, KY; brother, Clyde Nesmith of Owensboro, KY; granddaughters, Kelsey Lovins, Dreama Noffsinger, Miranda Brubaker, and Autumn Vice; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with care.
