The man who pointed a loaded pistol at another man is being charged with wanton endangerment. The incident occurred just before 7 in the morning a few days ago in the 800 block of East Center Street. The police found the loaded Taurus 40 caliber that belongs to Carold Smith. Smith was lodged in the detention center.
The driver of a Fiat that struck a utility pole last week is being charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and with failure to produce an insurance card. The incident involving Matthew Travis occurred in the 900 block of Grapevine Road at 10:15 PM. Travis was given the Standardized Field Sobriety Test.
The police are out with the details of the collision of a snow plow and a car last week. Snow plow operator 38-year-old Heath Hobbs of Hanson was attempting to do a turn on Silkwood Avenue when it hit the front bumper of the Chrysler 300 being driven by 21-year-old Kilo Hubbard of Madisonville. A pregnant passenger in the Chrysler visited the E-R with suspected minor injuries. Both vehicles remained in service.
In just a few short years, the archery complex in Madisonville has drawn thousands of out of towners. This is to the delight of Trish Noel of the Tourist & Convention Commission. She says every season, archers of all ages participate in tournaments at the state of the art facility.
Following an investigation, two Madisonville men are facing sodomy charges. Evidence indicated that 40-year-old Matthew Orange engaged in sexually explicit communications with a minor using an electronic device. He was also found to be in possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. Orange is charged with 6 crimes, including the distribution of obscene material to minors. The investigation also produced evidence that 75-year-old Donald Clayton was guilty of sodomy. The M-P-D says the investigation of Orange and Clayton is not complete.
Railroad maintenance is coming to Western Kentucky. Much of it will be in Webster County. This week in Sebree, the Main Street crossing will be blocked for two or three days. In the next few weeks, getting a lot of attention will be KY494 south of Sebree. The state says some non-state roads will be also impacted.
The whereabouts of a missing Dawson Springs man are now known. 67-year-old Bill Ed Brown was found in his Honda Accord in Caldwell County late last week. He was deceased. The vehicle was located just off Reddins Boat Dock Road. The vehicle was in high water . The Caldwell County coroner’s office and sheriff’s department are investigating.
In Frankfort, the Senate will rule on a measure to return the Ten Commandments Monument back to the capital grounds.
