Carmen Gloria Garcia Villanueva, 95, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Continued Care Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.
She was born on March 30, 1929, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, to the late Maria Auri Laugier and Santiago Garcia Veve. She was an avid Yankees Baseball fan and enjoyed car ride trips, socializing, watching her daughter bowl at Melody Lanes, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Carmen was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Alexander B. Villanueva, Sr.; brother, Santiago “Jimmy” Garcia Veve; and her twin sister, Julie Solidad Colon.
Her survivors include daughter, Gloria Villanueva-Hill of Madisonville; sons, Alexander B. (Sharilyn) Villanueva, Jr. of Lawrenceville, GA and Anthony Charles (Michelle) Villanueva of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Joshua A. (Amanda) Hill, Andrew C. (Melyssa) Hill, Michael A. (Kelsey) Hill, Jade (Allen) Fruge, Malia Villanueva, Zoe L. Villanueva; great-grandchildren, Kylie D. Hill, Kylynn G. Hill, Khye H. Hill, Logyn P. Hill, Blayke E. Hill, Hayes P. Hill, Breckyn W. Hill, Coleman J. Hill, Aidyn Fruge, Theodore Fruge, and Madeline Fruge; step grandchildren, Nicholas (Hailey) Burks and Lauren Burks; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1600 Kingsway Drive, Madisonville, KY, with Father Steve Hohman officiating. Burial to follow at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, 5817 Fort Campbell Blvd., Hopkinsville, KY.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church.
Pallbearers are Joshua Hill, Andrew Hill, Michael Hill, Alexander Villanueva, Jr., Anthony Villanueva, and Allen Fruge.
