Thomas Edward Dillingham, 88, of Madisonville, KY, passed through the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.
Tom was born on December 18, 1936, in White Plains, KY, to the late West and Sarah Ruby Brothers Dillingham. Tom was in the trucking industry during the early years of his life, and later worked for Peabody Coal Company. Tom enjoyed “noodling” for catfish with his lifelong friend, Jimmy Bedwell. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and UK Wildcats fan. Branson, MO, was a destination enjoyed many times by him and his late wife, Shelby. Tom was a member of Unity in Christ Church in Madisonville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of seventeen years, Shelby Jean Dillingham; son, Thomas A. Dillingham; grandsons, Matthew Dillingham and Mark William Dillingham; granddaughter, Jennifer Hand; and great-granddaughter, Bella Marie Dillingham.
Tom will remain in the hearts of family and friends he leaves behind. Survivors include his sons, Damon (Linda) Dillingham and West (Tammy) Dillingham; daughter, Marquetta Gibson; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many close friends.
To honor Tom’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in White Plains, KY, with Rev. Brian Richardson officiating. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, gestures of sympathy may be shown with a loving donation in Tom’s memory to Unity in Christ Church, 750 Wicks Well Road, Madisonville, KY 42431.
