Lyle E. Jones, 86, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Heartford House in Owensboro, KY.
He was born on August 5, 1938, in Meshoppen, PA, to the late Mary Jones Phinney Robinson and Arthur Jones. He retired as a machine operator from Diamond Manufacturing. He played for many minor league baseball teams. He was an avid bowler and received six “300” rings. Lyle was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ethel Rogers; and brother, Bryce Jones.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Delores Jones of Madisonville; daughters, Debra Bornin of Pittsburg, PA, Sandra Hecht Turner of Scottsdale, AR, and Tammy (Kirby) Smith of Madisonville; sister, Louise Place of Mehoopany, PA; brother, Russell Robinson of Mehoopany, PA; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with care.
