The state police are reporting the discovery of a missing man. 34-year-old Francisco Ramirez was last seen in Providence on January 22nd. Ramirez’ body was found Saturday in Webster County near Onton. Authorities do not believe there was foul play.
The firm that’s been hired to manage the new Kentucky Sports Factory in Madisonville also been granted the responsibility of managing the Youth Athletic Assocition and its facilities . Mayor Kevin Cotton believes Sports Facilities Companies of Florida will help improve the Y-A-A. Mayor Cotton is expecting most every aspect of the Y-A-A operation to be improved.
A driver spotted not wearing a seatbelt is what led to her arrest on Thursday afternoon in Madisonville. The officer doing the traffic stop smelled the strong odor of burnt cannabis. Lashaye Springfield said she took one hit of a marijuana joint just befort she began driving, and agreed to a sobriety test which she failed. Springfield is charged with booster seat violations and operating a vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance.
The Hopkins County Schools say an annual event takes place this afternoon. It’s the public forum for the Nutrition and Physical Activity Report Card. Residents are invited to the Central Office on South Seminary from 5 until 5:30. Among other things, nutrition and physical activity will will be discussed.
The Madisonville police have the details about the man and woman who were captured on video leaving Rural King Friday afternoon with unpaid merchandise. The police report says the black car of Brandon Marlowe and Ashlynn White was stopped on North Kentucky. Marlowe admitted they had stolen items. The drug dog Arkham located synthetic marijuana in the vehicle. Marlowe and White are charged with shoplifting. Marlowe is also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officials say the drinking water in Providence is safe. They say the water from the city owned lake meets the high standards of state agencies and the EPA. They say there is no indication of red algae in the water.
This announcement is from the Kentucky Department of Revenue. Taxes and registration are owed by the end of the month, regardless of whether a reminder has been received. They say some drivers are still waiting for their courtesy notices. Just because you have not received your reminder in the mail, does not mean your registration and taxes will not be past due after the 31st. The state says the postcards are a courtesy, not a due bill. The bottom line is this: do not wait for your notice.
