The National Weather Service says the weekend will be warmer, with dry conditions favored through early next week.
The M-F-D is confirming that there was a gas leak on Monday afternoon. Atmos Energy was called to 12-01 West Center Street in time to address the problem and prevent water from freezing in the pipes since the temperature at the time was in the single digits.
The M-P-D has a report on a domestic violence incident. On Tuesday night, they received a call from an apartment in the 900 block of Princeton Road. The officer says he saw a man intentionally injuring a woman. Terry Graham then attempted to prevent the officer from entering the apartment. Graham is charged with three crimes, including assault and resisting arrest.
The Madisonville Fire Department is looking for the owners of four dogs. The dogs were pulled from the ice at City Park on Wednesday, and were treated at the Tender Care Veterinary Clinic.
Groups across the state are working to reduce overdose deaths. In Western Kentucky, Dr. Alex Wright affiliated with the Four Rivers Foundation, says gaps in access often result in students either not receiving or experiencing long delays in care.
Ten Kentucky organizations are received funding from the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky to reduce overdose deaths and address mental health and healthcare needs.
An eclectic and sometimes interactive exhibit will remain on display at the Anne P. Baker Gallery in the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts through February 21st. The free gallery entitled Risk: The Art of David Gilkey, Jade Niehaus (NEE-house), and Julie Oakley is open weekdays during office hours.

A driver with prior convictions for methamphetamine is back in jail. Jeffrey Westby was stopped on Tuesday for not wearing his seat belt. During the traffic stop, a search of the vehicle produced a can containing a white crystal substance thought to be meth.
The state is testing the water in Providence. Webster County Emergency Management says it’s safe to drink but that it could still have an altered taste and smell. The matter was first noticed about three weeks ago when red algae was found in a “water source”.
In Washington DC, it’s being said that the House oversight investigation into the Biden family’s influence peddling schemes will be remembered as one of the most successful ever conducted by Congress. On Fox News, Kentucky Congressman James Comer says the evidence indicates President Biden will go down as the most corrupt president in history.
Our junior senator is sponsoring a measure that will prohibit federal employees and contractors from using their positions to censor and otherwise attack speech protected by the First Amendment. Rand Paul says Americans are free people, and we do not take infringements upon our liberties lightly. The time has come for resistance and to reclaim our God-given right to free expression. He says under the Free Speech Protection Act, the government will no longer be able to cloak itself in secrecy to undermine the First Amendment rights of Americans.
