A Madisonville man is missing from the Christian County Detention Center. The state police say Kevin Johnson walked away from a work detail on Saturday afternoon. He was last seen wearng khaki pants and a black shirt. Anyone with information about Kevin Johnson is asked to contact authorities.
Two Webster County teenage boys are no longer missing. The sheriff’s office says 14 year old Samuel McNany and 15 year old Payton Hivnor ran away from the Heartland Boys Academy on State Route 630 near Dixon Wednesday afternoon. McNany and Hivnor had been listed with the National Crime Information Center files.
In the last three years, Dawson Springs and FEMA have become quite familiar with each other. Mayor Jennie Sewell says some of the regulations had to literally be re-written to meet Dawson’s needs.
Sewell says the biggest challenges have been in replacing items that were not covered by insurance because it was a total wipe out. She says the building standards and codes of today are what have to be met, not the codes of the past.
The state is requiring drivers renewing their licenses to take a vision screening test. This new requirement was passed by the General Assembly three years ago. This law is already in effect in Ohio and Missouri. You can read more at drive dot k-y dot G-O-V.
Team Kentucky’s Transportation Cabinet is now in snow and ice mode for the coming winter season. More than 14-hundred plow trucks are on deck and more than 23-hundred staff and crew members are trained and ready to help keep travelers moving safely. Over a third of a million tons of salt is at their disposal.

The state is warning residents of jury service scams. Jury service requests never ask for payment, credit card information or Social Security numbers. If you suspect a scam, report it to authorities.
This is a sad day with the Central City police. Officer Wes Brown has passed away. Those on social media are saying that to know Wes Brown, was to love him.
Kentucky Congressman James Comer says the clock is running for conservatives in the House. He says conservatives would not be in the majority if it weren’t for Donald Trump. He was interviewed on NewsMax.
More and more electric charging stations are in the state’s plans. There’s talk of building 11 more of the fast-charging stations. The Alternative Fuel Corridor stations will be along interstates and parkways. The governor says Kentucky is continuing to lead the charge on the E-V front. He says the fast charging stations are an investment in everyone who lives here, works here, and visits our state.
In Washington, the senator who may have the most interest in our nation’s economy is Kentucky Senator Rand Paul. He continually brings to everyone’s attention how the federal government is wasting millions of taxpayer dollars, while at the same time increasing our national debt. Senator Paul is out a new list of what he describes as unnecessary projects. The list includes nearly half a million dollars to study lonely rats, 3 Million for ‘Girl-Centered Climate Action’ in Brazil, and over 2 million for Paraguayan Border Security.
