Sue Halfacer Settle, 87, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Sun Coast Hospice Care Center Mid Pinellas in Pinellas Park, FL.
She was born on November 7, 1937, in Nortonville, KY, to the late Lela Jeanette Hunt Parker and Franklin Halfacer. She was a graduate of South Hopkins High School. She retired after thirty-eight years from AT&T/Bellsouth. She enjoyed flower gardening, vegetable gardening, and bible study. She loved being involved with Silver Sneakers at the YMCA. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Sue was a member of Earlington First Baptist Church in Earlington, KY.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, John H. Settle, Jr.; son, Jon Michael “Mike” Settle; sister, Phyllis Sutton; two infant brothers; one infant sister; and her great-granddaughter, Aurorra Gaskill.
Her survivors include her daughter, Lisa (Kent) Richard of St. Petersburg, FL; brothers, Johnny Halfacer of Abilene, TX and Jerry Parker of Niceville, FL; sister, Cindy (Ralph) Bobbin of Mary Esther, FL; grandchildren, Jessica Settle, Hannah (Andrew) Trimble; Nick Richard, Noah Richard, Sam (Raegan) Richard, Jonah Richard, and Eli Richard; great-grandchildren, Oliver Hernandez, Corey Davenport, and Logan Arnold; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Fleming officiating. Burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour on Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Nick Richard, Noah Richard, Sam Richard, Jonah Richard, Eli Richard, Oliver Hernandez, and Corey Davenport.
