The National Weather Service says temperatures will warm tomorrow (on Friday) and into the weekend with a good chance of rain.
The condition of the pedestrian who was hit by a Chevy Silverado yesterday morning in Madisonville is being determined. 20-year-old Janaya Porter was hit just after 7 yesterday morning at Main and East Center. The driver was 52-year-old Jeffrey Johnson.
As the 4th year of tornado recovery begins, Dawson Springs still is busy doing reclamation. Mayor Jenny Sewell says they are now in the plan-and-build stage.
In Dawson Springs, the damaged flag on display at the police station is the one that was flying high on December 10th, 2021. The flag was heavily damaged and had to be cut down. The national weather service reported the wind speed during the tornado was over 200 miles an hour.
In Hopkins County, the Department of Probation and Parole is getting an assist in leading the Madisonville police to make an arrest. Donnie Pylant was arrested on Monday afternoon at a residence on South Main. He was in possession of suboxone pills and drug paraphernalia. Pylant also had a hypodermic needle in his possession.
In Webster County, the school district officials favor a nickel tax toward facility improvements. To help residents understand their cost, there is a property tax calculator on the district’s website. When a resident enters his figures, he’ll discover how the proposed nickel tax will impact his budget.

This week, the state is remembering the tornadoes of December 10th, 2021. On his Facebook page, Governor Beshear addressed the Commonwealth. Included was this local comment.
Mr. Beshear is thankful for each person and organization who stepped up, and continue to step up, for those who suffered loss.
The first Habitat for Humanity home built for the tornado victims of 2021 in Muhlenberg County is now occupied. Governor Beshear attended the dedication this week during the 3-year anniversary of the storm that took the life of the 5-month-old son of the Oglesby Family and caused a spinal cord injury to Charity Oglesby. She now is quick to say that God helped them through it. In honor of their son, they created Chase’s Christmas Charity to help ensure other children always have a great Christmas.
In Greenville, there will be a Wreaths Across America ceremony on Saturday. The Tourism Commission is inviting the public to be at Veterans Plaza at 10 o’clock for the placement of wreaths to honor those who have passed on. The keynote speaker will be retired Command Sergeant Major Greg Armstrong. Wreaths Across America is a national program.
This is from Webster County Emergency Management. The City of Providence is flushing the water system. Residents may experience discolored water during the process.
Former Madisonville North choir members are being invited to attend the M-C-C Singers Community Christmas program tomorrow night at the Glema. It hoped that many will come on stage to join the choir in singing T’was the Night Before Christmas. The free concert begins at 7.
