Pamela Kay Betts Faulk, 65, of Madisonville, KY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 29, 2024, at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville.
Pam was born on May 5, 1959, in Madisonville, KY, to loving parents of the late Wayne and Jeanette Betts. She proudly embraced her role as a self-proclaimed “trophy wife” to Steven Ray Faulk, and together they built a family centered on love, laughter, and faith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved brother, David Wayne Betts.
Pam is survived by her devoted husband of forty-six years, Steven; their children, Stephanie (Chris) Scott, Mitchell (Magen) Faulk, and Rachel (Mark) Allen; her cherished grandchildren, Conner and Gabe Allen, Layla and Drake Scott, and Moxley Faulk; half-sister, Anne Berkeypile; sisters-in-law, Alisa (Keith) Goodman, Georgianna Faulk, Valerie (Tim) Griffey, and Renae (Johnny) Miller; brothers-in-law, Ambrose Wilson and Jerry Hobgood; nieces and nephews, John (Sandra) Betts, Andy (Whitney) Downey, Kristy (Todd) Nolan, Bryce Dixon, David (Tonia) Griffey, Jeff Griffey, Josh (Jennifer) McCutcheon, and Casey (Keri) Miller; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pam formerly attended Western Kentucky University and worked as a dedicated Bank Teller for Farmers Bank for ten years before stepping away in 1990 to focus on raising her family—a role she cherished most.
Known for her vibrant personality and big heart, Pam wore many hats. Growing up, she perfected the art of sibling refereeing. She became the “neighborhood mom,” offering a safe, welcoming space for kids of all ages. Pam was also a trusted chauffeur, shuttling her kids and their friends to activities and events. It was probably a little chaotic, with her throwing snacks to the backseat crew while keeping everyone on schedule. She had a knack for rallying support as a fundraising champ, inspiring others to give generously to causes near and dear to her heart.
Pam had a zest for life that was reflected in her many hobbies and her love for celebrations. She was a lover of all holidays and celebrated each with gusto, whether it was decorating, baking themed treats, or orchestrating family get-togethers. But Halloween was her personal favorite—a time when her creativity shone brightest. She passed on her love of spooky decorations, clever costumes, and over-the-top candy stashes to the entire family, ensuring the spirit of Halloween (and all other holidays) lived on in every generation.
She was an avid reader, an expert bargain shopper, and an absolute cooking extraordinaire, with a special talent for chocolate cake. There was even a jingle about it: “Pam is great, fix us a chocolate cake.” She enjoyed playing Bunko, crafting, watching shows about the paranormal, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, whether over a shared cup of coffee or a lively conversation around the kitchen table. Her back door was always open, and her heart was always full.
A follower and believer in God, Pam’s deep faith guided her through life and was evident in her love for others. She found joy in spoiling her grandchildren and doting on the family pets, especially her beloved dog, Samson.
Pam’s warmth, humor, and boundless love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A funeral celebration of Pam’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Shannon Embry and Steve Gilliam officiating. Burial to follow at Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville.
A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include John Betts, Chris Scott, Mark Allen, Bryce Dixon, Nick Calhoun, and Deon Perkins. Honorary pallbearers are James Williams, Mike Cobb, Tommy Barnes, Johnny Miller, and Tim Griffey.
