The Madisonville Fire Department has the details about a traffic accident involving four vehicles last week on I-69 at mile marker 116. Included was a truck carrying chickens. One of the drivers could not leave her vehicle until her door was removed. Hydraulic spreaders and cutters were used. She was transferred to the E-R. The fire crew used 8-thousand gallons of water to clear the road.
As expected, Madisonville Community College says the Lowe’s Foundation Gable Grants that were awarded to to school last year are having a very positive impact. M-C-C says they have transformed the electrical technology and H-VAC programs by allowing students to complete both programs in just 6 semesters. Jacob Ashby is learning air conditioning technology.
The Madisonville police have the details about the arrest of a man wanted in West Virginia. After learning that Michael Zirkle was staying at the Big Spring Inn on East Center Street, they visited his room last Friday, but he resisted arrest, saying he wanted to die. Before Zirkle was subdued, the officers had to tazer him twice.
For the first time in four decades, a T-N-T facility will be constructed in Muhlenberg County. Senator Mitch McConnell says the facility will help to get America ready to prevent war by being strong. TNT is described as a vital weapons component. Many are saying it’s a good fit for Muhlenberg County. The new facility will need about 250 construction jobs and 50 permanent workers.

Usually, the fire department is the first responder to a gas leak. Last Friday morning, they were told by the resident of a house on Sugg Street that there was a strong gas odor. Using gas meters, it was found that the gas line feeding the water heater was the problem. In a short while, Atmos Energy was on the scene.
In Clay, the driver who attempted to speed away from a traffic stop is facing 7 charges. On Saturday night, the Sheriff’s Office says a deputy witnessed Johnathan Steward disregard the stop sign at the intersection of State Route 109 North and State Route 132 West. When the officer attempted to do the traffic stop, Steward sped up but was not able evade the squad car. The deputy described Steward as impaired and placed him under arrest. The police report indicated that the deputy located a partially smoked marijuana cigarette.
In Dixon, another Community Road Show on the Nickel Tax takes place this evening. It’s at the campus annex at 5:30. It’s intended to be informative. Questions about the nickel tax can also be sent in. Visit the district’s website for a link.
In Washington, Congressman James Comer is calling on the FEMA Administrator to testify before the House Oversight Committee. This request follows the report of a FEMA employee who directed disaster relief officials to avoid houses displaying Trump signs. Mr. Comer appeared on NewsMax.
Comer says the American people are demanding common sense reform.
