The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office has a burglary suspect. It was determined that Branden Vincent of Newburg was of those involved in an Earlington burglary on October 21st at 407 South Robinson Street. After an arrest warrant was obtained, he was located and arrested by the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office on October 24th. Vincent was returned to Hopkins County on November 1st. The W-C-S-O says the case is still under investigation.
Late Wednesday night, the traffic stop of a vehicle with no headlights and a driver not wearing a seat belt is what led to an arrest on four charges. 31-year-old Rick Romig of Madisonville was picked up at 11:30 on South Main at Dulin in a Ford pickup that belonged to the Deahl Mowing Company. He told the officer that he did not have a driver’s license. Deahl Mowing came and took possession of the vehicle. Romig said he had lived on Dulin Street for 4 or 5 months but never notified the state of his address.
The city and county agree that the new unnamed sports complex is going to be a game changer. Mayor Kevin Cotton says opening day has not been set but that it will impact the community.

Madisonville Community College is celebrating Native American Heritage Month with a special program today. Renowned Navajo flute maker, flautist, and storyteller Fred Nez-Keams will share his music, personal stories, and lead a discussion from 11 until 1.

The meeting schedule for the Madisonville City Council is being changed. There will be no meeting this afternoon. The next meeting will be on Monday, the 18th, at 4:30 at City Hall.
The Madisonville man who lost his phone is now in jail. When the police turned on the phone they discovered tht it belonged to 40-year-old William R. Mayes. They also noticed that the phone contained sexual content. Channel 14 is reporting that the Criminal Investigations Division located child pornography. Mayes admitted he downloaded the illegal material.
A new agricultural technology business in Hanson is looking forward to its grand opening. CLAAS FARMPOINT in the Hanson Industry & Technology Park is hiring 30 full time employees. This facility will serve as the hub for the company’s mobile-first, technology-driven parts and equipment service model. Hopkins County leaders say the expansion of CLAAS FARMPOINT will revolutionize on-farm experiences.
The Kentucky Oral Health Coalition says the numbers of dental visits have been declining in the last year. Julie Smith directs dental services for the Cumberland Family Medical Center in Central Kentucky. She says most children would go the entire school year without seeing a dentist were it not for their school’s dental checkup.
